2012 Beulah Challenge Race 10k run, 5k run and 5k fun walk
The 2012 Beulah Challenge Race: "It's Just A Hill, Get Over It" is scheduled for August 4th at 8:00 a.m. This spectacular race takes place in the beautiful foothills of the Wet Mountain Range and the Pueblo Mountain Park. Expect open fields, forested mountain roads, streams and wildlife---all in the quaint, friendly town of Beulah, Colorado. The 5k run will be a rolling hill loop covering both dirt and paved roads. The 10k runners will also run on paved and dirt roads as well as running through the beautiful Pueblo Mountain Park. 10k participants will be challenged with hills and altitude! Don't worry, there will be plenty of shaded roads and water stops! The 5k fun walk will follow the route for the 5k runners.
The start and finish are at the Beulah Community Center, located at 5927 Pennsylvania Avenue. There will be handcrafted items awarded, water stops and participant T-shirts. Due to insurance restrictions, dogs or strollers will not be allowed in the race.
Proceeds from the race benefit the Beulah Educational Support Team, a 501(c)3 organization which provides funding for educational programming at the Beulah School of Natural Sciences.
Entry Deadline:
Early registration ends July 15th. After July 15th late fees will apply. Race day entry does not guarantee t-shirt. Registration on Race Day begins at 7:00 a.m. and closes at 7:45 a.m. Packet pick-up will be July 28th at the Pueblo Athletic Club (58 Glenroyal Drive in Pueblo) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Entry Fees:
Adults 18 & over: $20 After July 15th $25
17 & under: $15 After July 15th $20
Souther Colorado Runners Club members receive $2 discount
Awards:
Awards will be presented to overall male and female winners in both the 10k & 5K funs in the following categories: 17 & under, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
Directions:
From South of Pueblo, take I-25 to Pueblo Boulevard West. Go southwest on Hwy 78/Northern Avenue to Beulah. In Beulah, go right at fork in the road, onto Grand Avenue. Continue on Grand to Pennsylvania Avenue. Turn left onto Pennsylvania Avenue and continue up the hill to the Community Center.
From North of Pueblo, take Hwy 50 exit west. Then go south on Pueblo Blvd., to Hwy 78. Take Hwy 78 west to Beulah. In Beulah, go right at fork in the road, onto Grand Avenue. Continue on Grand to Pennsylvania Avenue. Turn left onto Pennsylvania Avenue and continue up the hill to the Community Center.
